Deepwood Estates Fairytale Wedding in Salem, Oregon | Kali & Zach
Kali & Zach’s Woodland Fairy Covid Summer Wedding
Kali and Zach wanted a fairytale boho themed wedding at a local venue, The Deepwood Estates, with around 200 guests. Then the pandemic hit. During their engagement photo session (click HERE to see that adventure), we created plans B and C depending on where the restrictions would be on their wedding day. We kept in contact through it all, honestly it probably felt a little like being on a roller coaster-first, only 10 people, then it went up to 50, then down to 20, then up to 150 outdoors, then back down to 50…it was just madness. But we all pivoted and when the day finally came, we celebrated with 50 of their closest friends and family and it was truly beautiful.
Deepwood Museums and Gardens is such an epic venue! The house was built in 1894 and while it is only open for tours and not during events, they do open the Solarium for you to use which was a dream come true! It is such a stunning venue with the most gorgeous gardens. The gardens were designed to simulate “rooms” and each has a very different feel, but they come together seamlessly. It is pretty amazing. There is also a little bridal lounge on the backside of the house and a huge tent to dance the night away, making this the perfect venue for large or small events. I loved that Kali, Zach and their family put an emphasis on creating most of the decor themselves. It allowed them to stick with the woodland fairy theme that Kali loved and to adjust with the COVID restrictions. I was thrilled to learn that the main wedding color was rust orange! That is one of my all time favorite colors ever! And while no wedding ever happens exactly as planned, I was so impressed with how much each family member was giving to make this day special. It was truly a gift of love.
