An Intimate Fall Wedding at Postcard Cabins in Glenwood, Washington

Bride and Groom standing in a grove of aspen during their fall wedding at Postcard Cabins

There’s something truly magical about fall weddings in the Pacific Northwest—crisp air, golden leaves, and that soft, dreamy light that makes everything feel straight out of a storybook. Kendal and Patrick’s intimate wedding at Postcard Cabins in Glenwood, Washington, was no exception. From the moment I arrived, I could tell this weekend was going to be something special.

Postcard Cabins, nestled at the base of Mount Adams, was the perfect setting for their adventure-inspired wedding. They rented out all the cabins for the weekend, transforming the space into a cozy, mountain retreat where their closest friends and family could celebrate, relax, and soak in the beauty of fall in Washington. And, of course, their two pups, Benny and Winston, were right there for every moment—because what’s an adventure without your best four-legged friends?

A Private First Look & Vows in the Forest

Kendal and Patrick started their day with a private first look outside their cabin, surrounded by towering aspens and golden leaves. The moment Patrick turned around to see Kendal, you could see the love and excitement all over his face. Kendal’s dress—an effortlessly flowy number from True Society—moved beautifully with the autumn breeze, and Patrick looked incredibly sharp in his custom Indochino suit (one of my personal favorite places for my grooms to shop!).

They exchanged private vows, just the two of them. It was one of those intimate moments that reminded me why I love capturing weddings—raw, real, and absolutely beautiful.

After wiping away some happy tears (on all of our parts), we explored the property for their first round of portraits. The variety of backdrops at Postcard Cabins is a photographer’s dream—golden fields still dotted with wildflowers, tall pine trees, and those striking white-barked aspens that glow in the afternoon light. Kendal and Patrick’s chemistry made every shot effortless, and the whole session felt more like an adventurous day in the mountains rather than a posed portrait session.

An Elegant Ceremony with a Mountain Backdrop

As golden hour approached, guests gathered on a grassy knoll with Mount Adams as the backdrop. Kendal and Patrick’s ceremony setup was simple yet stunning—dried florals that perfectly complemented the warm, earthy tones of the season, wooden chairs, and a backdrop that needed no extra decoration.

The weather was warm during the day and crisp at night, exactly the kind of fall day you dream about for an outdoor wedding. As they exchanged vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. Benny and Winston joined in for the ceremony, sitting sweetly by their sides as they officially became husband and wife.

Sunset Portraits with Mount Adams

After the ceremony, while guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we snuck away for sunset portraits with Mount Adams in the background. This was when Benny and Winston rejoined us, making these moments even more special. If you’ve never seen a sunset here in the fall, it’s breathtaking—warm golden light melting into soft pinks and purples as the sun dips behind the peaks. Kendal’s dress flowed beautifully as the wind picked up slightly, and Patrick pulled her in close, soaking in the moment.

These portraits ended up being some of my absolute favorites from the day. There’s something about the mountain air, the way the light hits just right, and two people madly in love (plus their pups!) that makes my photographer heart so happy.

Dinner & Dancing Under the Stars

As the sun fully set, guests gathered under a big tent for dinner. Four and Twenty Blackbirds handled the catering, and let me tell you—it was incredible. Every dish was thoughtfully crafted, and it was the perfect way to bring everyone together around the table.

The evening ended with dancing under the stars, filled with laughter, heartfelt toasts, and some serious dance floor moves. With the cabins all rented out, guests didn’t have to worry about driving home—they could just step outside into the crisp night air and head back to their cozy retreats.

A Wedding Weekend to Remember

Kendal and Patrick’s wedding was the perfect blend of elegant, modern, and adventure-inspired—a weekend getaway in the mountains, surrounded by love, laughter, and a whole lot of beauty.

For couples looking for a Pacific Northwest wedding with breathtaking views, cozy accommodations, and the freedom to celebrate all weekend long, Postcard Cabins in Glenwood, Washington, is an absolute dream. And if you’re considering a fall wedding? Do it. There’s truly nothing like it.
