Oregon High Desert Styled Elopement | Crack in the Ground and Christmas Valley Sand Dunes
Elegant Adventure Elopement in the High Deserts of Oregon
This was technically two styled shoots in one and was a last hoorah of the summer! I had always wanted to visit Crack in the Ground and the Christmas Valley Sand Dunes in Oregon. Crack in the Ground is a ancient fissure in the ground that goes on for about a mile. It is super crazy cool, because while it can be really hot in the desert, inside the fissure is nice and cool. The road to Crack in the Ground was easy as far as not needing four wheel drive, but I have never experienced such terrible washboards before in my life! They were so bad that our chairs for the sweetheart table didn’t make it, and it wasn’t due to the driving! Lol! The sand dunes are a pretty epic location that is really popular with ATV’s. It feels like you are in your own little version of the Sahara Desert. The locations are about an hour from each other, so when Katie from Katie Hernandez Photography and I started chatting about doing an adventure elopement styled shoot together, I knew these locations would be epic!
Planning a styled shoot is always an adventure, and this one was not an exception! I picked up the florals from Brenna the day before, and they filled my entire 4-Runner! Keeping florals cool is always tricky, so I blasted the A/C the entire time, but it worked and they looked truly beautiful! The cake didn’t make it on the drive to Crack in the Ground, which was so sad because it was really pretty and very tasty! But the macaroons did and they were just the perfect addition to the sweetheart picnic spot. And Casey did an amazing job on the stationary set!
It was a full day filled with adventure, and I am just so lucky to have spent it with such amazing people and showcasing such amazing talents!
